Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup almond milk
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- 3-4 slices of whole wheat bread, cut into finger shapes (thicker works better)
- 1 tbs butter or oil
- Toppings such as yogurt, banana, berries, peanut butter, etc.
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, mix eggs, almond milk, and cinnamon.
- Cut the slices of bread into finger shapes (3-4 slices per piece of bread).
- Melt butter or oil on a griddle or pan over medium heat.
- Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, coating them evenly, and transfer to the griddle.
- Cook the sticks for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until both sides are browned. Repeat with the remaining sticks.
- Remove the toast sticks from the griddle and place them on a plate to cool slightly.
- Top with your favorite toppings such as yogurt, banana, berries, peanut butter, etc.
Notes:
- These delicious French toast sticks can be frozen for later. Simply place them in a single layer in a freezer bag. When you’re ready to enjoy, microwave them for 10-20 seconds and savor the flavor!
